Elder Watts

Hey mom! I am glad to hear that you are doing well! To answer your question I can only walk in my mission and that is it! My bathroom is inside but it is covered in bugs! The other day I was taking a shower and a huge cockroach the size of a 50 cent piece dropped from the ceiling in the shower and it was running around by my feet! Ha-ha it was crazy! The bugs eat me here at night too! it doesn’t matter if I have sweats on or bug repellant, they just destroy me! But we have just been working a lot and teaching! We have 3 investigators right now, one named Francisco who is my age, one named Juan who is 23 and another named Leidi who is 23. They are all doing really well and they are supposed to be baptized in the next couple of months!

My ward is smaller than ours at home if you can believe it but they are all really good members. There are a lot of people here that have been baptized into the church but don’t go anymore and don’t even know who Jesus Christ is. It is crazy to me I want to find the elders that taught them and shoot them!
My companion is awesome and he is an awesome missionary and friend! He helps me a ton with whatever I need. We work really hard but we have fun when we can too! We are really happy which is so nice to have because a lot of elders out here aren’t very happy! I am learning a ton out here and I am picking up on the culture a little! Oh speaking of culture, the weird food of the week is cow stomach! It looked like sea food and I didn’t find out till after what it was which I was really grateful for! The people here live for soccer too! It is crazy people are born with a soccer ball here and they always play in the park across from our house! Because of past problems though we aren’t allowed to play soccer in the mission, I was kind of bummed about but I understand! I do my laundry in a sink here which kind of sucks and the worst is hanging things up to dry! I swear when I hang my stuff up to dry it just gets wetter because it is so humid down here! Ha-ha it is humid and it is like 83 degrees in the night here so I just sleep with a fan on! I sweat all of the time and everyone makes fun of me but it is alright!
We have given a lot of blessings so far because they think that the elders have more authority than anyone else in the world! Ha-ha it is a pretty cool experience though!  The people here are just so loving and nice! I am picking up the language so I can hold a conversation with most people and they are really funny! They are always cracking jokes and using sarcasm! There are some families that have dirt floors here and no money with like 6 kids in the house and it just looks miserable to be in but they are so much happier than any person back in the United States. It just blows my mind! They have nothing but they act like they have everything! And the families here are really close!  The kids here love their parents and they are like their best friends! it is so cool to see and it is really cool teaching them about how to strengthen their families!
I would send pictures but I dropped my camera the other day and the memory card fell out so I can’t send any! I need to go buy one or if you could send me one that would be cool but if not they are pretty cheap here!
I am doing so well out here and I love it! It is really hard sometimes but so rewarding as well! Don’t worry about me because I am doing great!
Were you able to look my area up on the internet? Its name is Cali -Morichal! It’s is pretty cool and the food here is great that they sell on the street!

Hey dad! I wrote my bulk letter to mom but I am doing well! I got to watch conference in English which was really nice! I have never learned so much in conference in my life! Probably because I wasn’t sleeping the whole time this time! Ha-ha it was really good though just to relax and watch! Yeah the bugs suck here during the night but hopefully I will adapt! I feel like I am camping at strawberry when I am here but when I am actually camping at strawberry I feel a lot cleaner! Ha-ha it is hot here all of the time too.  The little kids here are so funny! You are right a lot of them are in poverty but are just so happy and energetic all of the time! It is fun to mess around with them and talk English with them! I am supposed to be teaching English in the ward soon to get more investigators which is going to be crazy! Ha-ha I am so glad that Bry is doing well and tell him I love him!  I am so jealous about Vegas! I was looking at all of the wakeboarding pictures and I miss it so much!  Easter without the family will be weird too! Send me some pictures of how it went!!
