Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is doing good out there! This week has been decent. We went to this area called Santa Rosa this week two times which is an area that is in our boundaries but we never go because it is like 30 minutes away in bus and it is expensive. But we went there because a member gave us lunch this week and so we decided to try it out and see how the area is but it is really hard because when you invite people to come to church you have to mention that every single Sunday at 9 am they have to take a bus to the other side of the city and it is expensive! For that reason there is a lot of less actives so it is really rough and to tell you the truth I don't know what to do because members want us to work there but we are just going to create the same problem with the less actives but I guess we will see. But the other time we helped one of the members move this week from that area. They moved really close to the church because they couldn't afford to travel every single Sunday. It was a great opportunity for service but then again we lost a whole day of teaching so that kind of sucks but oh well, we will have to make up for it this week!
This week we found a new investigator named Jorge, it was a miracle that we found this guy. We were walking down the street to go to church on Sunday and some old guy yelled at us down the street and said hey wait! So we went over and talked to him and he said I have one of your sisters in my house! And we were like what? And he said that there was a member from Cali here that was visiting and she didn't know where the church was! So we went and visited her and she was super excited to see us and came to church with us. But what was really amazing is when we went back later that night to visit them. There was a ton of people in the family and most of them were visiting from Cali and they were all members, but the family that lived there weren't all members. The wife that lives there was baptized but fell away from the church for a long time and we talked with her husband (Jorge) about the church and he already knows a lot about the church and everything. Then he started talking to us about baptism and how he needs to make the decision to get baptized and he feels bad for wasting so much time and he really wants to progress spiritually and learn! It was amazing! I prayed the night before and I said that I just wanted to find one person that wants to change their lives with the gospel, just one that's all, someone that really wants to progress and not just listen to us and that's all. Then the next day we found him. It was an answer to a prayer and it was amazing! I am so grateful that we found him and hopefully we can work with him and he can progress like he wants to!
Today I played soccer with all of the youth in my ward and these are some pictures of all of the youth in the ward! (I am the tall white guy) They are amazing guys and we are trying to prepare some of them to go on missions which is really cool to be apart of! Last Saturday during the celebration for Thomas S Monson's birthday two of them received the Melchizedek priesthood and we got to participate when they were ordained which was really cool!
Anyways I hope everyone has a great week and I love you all!
