Hey everyone!
This week has been kind of hard! A lot of visits fell through and we have been struggling to find new investigators to teach. And the ones that we do find only listen to be nice and don't want to accept any commitments which kind of sucks. But we fasted to find some new investigators this last week and we were walking down this little street in a neighborhood and there was these three ladies sitting outside on some chairs and they were talking and I noticed that they were talking about my hair and how it was a weird color (of course) and I overheard them and I looked over and they were embarrassed that I heard them. They started laughing and then I looked over again and one of said to come here, so of course they ask me if I am from the US and all of that kind of stuff and then we started talking about the missionary work that we do and then one of them was really interested and asked if we could visit her the next day... I said yeah alright I guess we could probably do that! Ha ha that never happens so it was really cool, we went to go teach and she has a ton of questions because she was investigating a church that still believes in animal sacrifices and all the weird things in the old testament. But our lessons make a lot of sense to her and she wants to know the truth so bad so I hope that she can follow through and be baptized because she is so prepared to hear the word! Anyways that was an answer to my fast and I have a strong testimony about fasting, that when you are in a rut just fast and it will take care of the job! :)
Today I had a meeting in a city called Armenia and it was a training meeting for the zone and district leaders and the president trained us. I learned how to take my responsibility as a leader and how to work effectively. He taught us how to spread the gospel by talking to every single person that we see and we should give everyone an opportunity to hear the word, it really made me realize how much more I need to talk to people on the street, as bad as it sucks in Spanish I need to do it and I have an awesome opportunity because I am white with blue eyes and blond hair so everyone already stares at me so I should be able to contact a lot of people!
This last week was kind of rough but this next week should be good and I am really excited.
Oh by the way August 27th D Todd Christopherson is coming to our mission to talk to us in Medellin and I am stoked! He is from our stake and it should be an awesome day! I guess I really never realized how important he was when he was in our stake, that is an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ on the earth and it is such a great opportunity to learn!
I hope everyone has a great week!!
