So this week has been pretty good, some pretty random stuff happened this week but other than that really good! For example we were sitting in church yesterday and all of a sudden this guy walks in asking to talk to someone, not really specific, he just wanted to talk to someone. So we took him inside of a room and asked him what was up and he started explaining how he wanted to change his life and he didn't want to live the life he is living right now. He explained how he has killed a ton of people and he is in a gang and running from the police but now he is scared and he doesn't want to do all of that anymore. He said that he has a sick sister he has to help and that if he doesn't to a ¨Job¨ right now and if he doesn't do it they are going to kill him and his sister. And if he did the job he would get like 300 dollars to move away and help his sister. So he was asking us if what he should do and of course we couldn't tell him to go and do the job because he was going to go kill someone but we couldn't tell him just to get killed and it was just a really hard situation. It really made me see the repentance process and how hard it sometimes for people and that when we get in so deep it is hard to get out, it was really hard to see and I felt so bad for him, I just felt hopeless for him and we tried to help him spiritually as much as we could but it just wasn't enough. But pretty crazy that we met a man probably wanted from all of the police in Medellin!
But this week we went up to a little town called Santa Elena, it is a little town on the mountain tops of Medellin and it is so cold up there! Everyone has a little cabin and it is way pretty up there! we are thinking about putting missionaries up there so we got to go check it out for a day to see how it was!
But other than that things have been really normal. We have been working hard but some of the investigators are falling and it is kind of hard, hopefully they can get back on the path and start progressing again but we will see how it goes!
I hope you all have a great week!!
Elder Watts
